Frequently Asked Questions

Is this estimate a binding quote?

No. It is a transparent starting range based on the details you select. Actual pricing is confirmed at the start of your engagement once we review your prior-year return and current documents.

Why are your fees lower than a local CPA?

Our preparers hold the Enrolled Agent (EA) credential — a federal license that authorizes us to prepare returns and represent clients before the IRS in all 50 states. EA pricing typically runs below local CPA rates for the same return.

What is the $1,500 ceiling on individual returns?

No matter how complex your individual (1040) return is, our preparation fee will not exceed $1,500. Business returns are priced separately and have no fixed ceiling.

How does the per-asset pricing work?

Depreciable assets — vehicles, equipment, rental property, and similar items — are billed at $1.75 per asset across all return types, reflecting the time required to track depreciation schedules.

What is not included in the estimate?

Additional accounting or cleanup work needed to complete the return is billed at $150/hr. Payroll returns (940/941), amended returns, IRS notices, and bookkeeping cleanup are separate service engagements.
